Engineering Manager – Design and Applications

Business development and project management experience
Manufacturing and casting design and fabrication experience
Design engineering in fire protection systems for foam and special hazards
Application and design of pumps – both centrifugal water and gear pumps
Fire protection experience required

Description
Responsible for engineering procurement, design of new products, and improvement of existing products as assigned.  Ensures that assigned engineering project activities are completed within the timelines agreed upon with management and in accordance with established quality standards and procedures.  Develops designs, manufacturing specifications, and quality specifications and assists in product testing and evaluation of new concepts, devices, and systems that ensure the company’s leadership position in the industry.  Coordinates closely with related departments to effect necessary changes and revisions.  Ensures that safety regulations are closely adhered to.  Ensures that all related documentation is complete, including specifications, drawings, and 3D models.

Provides support to the Applications Engineering group for application, quotation, and custom design of projects as necessary. Customer support and possible travel to job sites when required.

Required knowledge

  • Excellent understanding of Company operations
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, procedures, and standards
  • Thorough knowledge of current requirements and regulations
  • Knowledge of foam fire protection applications and pump systems

  • Able to organize multiple projects
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Strong PC computing skills, including MS Office and engineering software
  • CAD design, 3D modeling (Solidworks, ProE ETC) AutoCAD
